Chicago's Neighborhoods: LINCOLN PARK/DE PAUL

Lincoln Park

Travel with Palos Fine Arts and City Ventures and discover the vibrant Lincoln Park/DePaul Neighborhoods. Trace the development of this area from swampland and forest to one of the most fashionable places to live in Chicago! Tour the DePaul University Art Museum, located in the heart of Lincoln Park on DePaul University’s campus. Built in 2011, the LEED-certified building houses contemporary exhibitions. Visit St. Vincent DePaul Church and admire its high altar fashioned from white Carrara marble with inlaid mother-of-pearl and Venetian mosaic, as well as the beautiful German baroque stained glass windows.

Enjoy lunch at the charming Chez Moi French Bistro. Choose Quiche Provençale or Croque Monsieur (traditional French ham/cheese sandwich). Also included are salad, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage. Bon Appetit! (Please indicate meal choice when registering)

Explore Lincoln Park where historic churches and handsome brick row houses are nestled within landmark districts that sit next to peaceful parks. During your motorcoach tour, we’ll pass the site of Al Capone’s most notorious killing, the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre and the location where John Dillinger was shot and killed. Then, we’ll step inside and be transported to another place and time -  Lincoln Park Conservatory - where you will find tropical palms and ancient ferns, right in the heart of Lincoln Park! Enjoy viewing the Great Garden in front of the Conservatory, one of the oldest public gardens in Chicago with twelve beds of colorful summer annuals and tropical plants.
