Frank Lloyd Wright in the Country
Travel with Palos Fine Arts and City Ventures to Geneva, Illinois to visit Muirhead Farmhouse and more! Located in a rural setting just northwest of Chicago, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Muirhead Farmhouse is the only known farmhouse designed and built by Wright during his lifetime. The 3,200 sq. ft. home is an example of Wright's Usonian architecture. Designed by Wright in 1950 and constructed between 1951 and 1953, the Farmhouse underwent an extensive restoration in 2003 and now remains in the care of the Muirhead family. The Farmhouse has been recognized by Kane County, the State of Illinois and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Lunch is a special treat at the Aquaviva Winery. Acquaviva is a family-owned 40-acre estate vineyard and full service winery. Along with the award-winning wines and delicious pairing cuisine, the Acquaviva winery boasts amazing architecture and hand-painted fine art by world renowned artist Andrew Zabela.
After lunch, we’ll head into historical Geneva, Illinois for some retail therapy.
