2017 Palos Fine Arts Scholarship Awardees

Palos Fine Arts is happy to announce this year's awardees of our annual scholarships.

 

Each year at the Concert in the Park, which we co-host with the Village of Palos Park - Palos FIne Arts has a Scholarship Raffle. The proceeds of the raffle benefit our scholarship fund. 

Palos Fine Art's Scholarships:  Each $800.00

Frank Rodriquez, a senior at Stagg from Hickory Hills who has been passionately on the speech team and  in many drama and theater productions throughout his high school experience, will continue his studies at ISU in Theater Education.

Conor Graf, a junior at Benet Academy from Palos Park where she excels in the choir program as well as dance and looks forward to an internship with the PALOS LIFE magazine as a student writer this summer, will attend a dance workshop in LA spanning November 2017 and March 2018.

Elizabeth Sacha, a junior at Stagg from Palos Park; as an avid voice, theater and musical student, will attend ISU's Musical Theater Summer Camp in July.

Palos Fine Arts will award our 2017 Scholarships both at each student’s school Award night, as well as The Concert in the Park.

Palos Fine Arts also receives special funding from the community, former Palos Fine Arts board members and/or their families for our special scholarships.

Special Scholarships: each $1000.00

LOVE THE PARK FINE ARTS AWARD: Emma Lizzio, a senior at Stagg from Palos Park whose exceptional work ethic, maturity and enthusiasm combined with her outstanding theatric talents, will continue as she studies at ISU this fall as an acting major.

ARLENE VANDERBILT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Amer Hasan, a senior at Sandburg who lives in Orland Park with exceptional musical talent, will continue his studies of the clarinet at Oberlin Conservatory in the fall.  This follows his summer tour with the National Youth Orchestra of the USA traveling to South America, a Carnegie Hall program.

DONNA O'BRIEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Karolina Budz, a senior at Shepard who lives in Alsip, is an outstanding visual artist,  who has received a number of artistic awards (from MVCC and Art From the Heart sponsored by Advocate Christ Medical Center), will attend St. Xavier's University in the fall to study Advertising.

CATHY HOLMES-WEIGEL FOUNDERS SCHOLARSHIP: Emily Robinson, a senior at Shepard living in Palos Heights, will attend School of the Art Institute of Chicago to continue her studies in the field of Art where she excels in the studies of Fine Arts, graphic design, water color and visual communication.
